Dunbar/Spring Neighborhood Foresters restores the urban Tucson neighborhood through plantings of native Sonoran Desert plants, bringing abundant wildlife including bird populations back to the community since 1996. The organization regrows the soil-carbon-sponge and enhances the hydrologic cycle through neighborhood forestry practices. They organize community planting events, provide free native seeds to volunteers, and host Work & Learn stewardship parties to promote native wildflowers and plants while controlling invasive weeds.
